All enrolled Drivers Ed students are required by Idaho State Law to complete a minimum of 6 hours observing another driver. A good time to start is while they are working through their coursework. Below are links to the Student Observation Log, which will be used to document the student’s 6 hours of active observation. This log must be completed to receive a driver’s permit. Select one of the links below to download (PDF or Word Document) a copy of the Student Observation log. Please begin working with the Student to fulfill the observation requirements. Once the required 6 hours of observation have been completed, you will provide the completed Observation Log to your Driver’s Ed instructor, or you can upload your completed copy of the Student Observation Log here by selecting the gray “Upload Completed Observation Log” option below.
